I would hate living without my Tex-Mex. I can cook it myself and I do all the time but being able to go to a restaurant and eat it is really nice sometimes.

Most of the true Mexican food I've ever eaten isn't spicy. The heat comes from the salsas you can put on the food. But a lot of the food is made using chili powder so if you're sensitive to it at all I can see why Mexican food wouldn't be something you'd want or crave.

If I suddenly developed an allergy to Mexican food I'd cry..lol. I have a friend who loves shellfish and ate it all her life and then suddenly developed a life threatening allergy to it so she can never eat it again.

Yes I can recommend quite a few places! If in doubt head for Brick Lane, you can't really go wrong there. Our latest favourite is a place called Mela just opposite the Spitz bar/Spitalfields Market.  I'll let you know next time we're heading for a curry ... we usually can't go more than 2 weeks without a fix ...

Thanks for the tip, Liz!  And yes, do give us a call next time you're planning a trip down that way and we'll join you!  :)  It sounds like the kind of thing you want to do with someone experienced.  ;)

And I'm definitely up for a UKY Curry Night, too, if anybody else wants to come along!

I haven't read through everyone's replies yet (Darn work! I can't keep up with the site! I honestly am not just being anti-social, folks hehe) But I wanted to share the name of a GREAT Indian Restaurant here in London for anyone that's interested! It's our official "taking visitors out for a great curry" destination  :D

Neel Kamal
160 New Cavendish Street, London, W1M 7FJ
Nearest Tube Station:Goodge Street
Tel: 020 7580 6125
Average Price: £20 ...

We've had a great experience every time we've gone. The host and waitstaff are really hospitable and friendly and the food is *fantastic*  ;D

It would be a great place for a UKY Curry meet if folks didn't mind coming into London! I think we'd have to call ahead and book, though- depending on how many folks wanted to go!
