Anyone shop there? What American like foods do they sell? We're going there to get some Skippy tomorrow.

waitrose is by far my favorite grocer here.  they care about treating local farmers fairly and they put a lot of emphasis on good treatment for their livestock while they are being farmed.

they have bisquick!  Also some WW products.....a lot *is* english/european though.

My dh is a manager at Waitrose so I may be a tad biased, but I love it. And if you compare costs when you buy Waitrose own brand, it's not nearly as expensive as people make it out to be.... And Liz is right - their delivery service ROCKS.

We don't really buy much in the way of American food, but I do know that they carry a fair amount. Off the top of my head: Hershey Kisses, pumpkin (but it always sells out quite fast), Brianna's salad dressings, Bisquick like Amy said, Skippy peanut butter, maple syrup. I'll add more later if I think of other stuff....

I have seen the French's mustard you guys like there too as well as the products everyone else has mentioned. My husband also loves the Blueberry muffins from the bakery, I know they are not American, but he is fussy about Muffins!

I love Waitrose and do all of our shopping there, apart from when we get our Farmer's and French Markets, yes I do pay more than if I chose Lidl's for example, but I am paying for ethical, traceable farming and quality.

Just as an aside for those that like ham, they do Duchy Estates organic smoked ham and it is simply the most delicious, dry cut of ham I have ever had, it's dear (runs about £4-5 for 4 slices, but it is so lovely it can make a meal just with something simple on the side. Hubby has been in hospital this week and hated the food, so I was adding to Waitrose's share prices significantly this past week with this ham!

Another tip is their pkts of New Zealand Rib Eye/Sirloin steaks, approx £12-15 for 6 individually wrapped steaks and a really nice quality meat.

I will truly miss Waitrose (and M&S, but that's another whole thread I am sure we have done before!) when I leave, :(

Actually larger Tesco's  and Sainsbury's also carry all the US products mentioned.

Waitrose is nice for those higher quality products though.

Lovely seafood as well.  Well at least the one in Cornwall. :-)

When I went, I noticed how much more healthy the food was, compared to places like asda. I only go there when I'm desperate, since we're on one income at the moment. I'm the type of person would is willing to pay the extra money for a better product. Not only that but the store was clean. It was nice and bright, not dingy and dirty like asda. So when I start earning, I'll most likely do my shopping there, or Sainsbury's...

I love Waitrose!!  I do basic shopping at Asda and specialty items I get from waitrose. They do not deliver to Chelmsford, I wish they did.

But we do most of our shopping at Aldi.

Mmmmm....Waitrose.  Everyone I know who visits it even once falls for it.  I agree - prices aren't too high if you buy their brands, plus they have 2 for 1 deals.  Their Indian meals are amazing and their produce is better than most out there.  The Waitrose that's next to me isn't too large..maybe that's why I haven't seen any US products?

At my Waitrose, I found Mr. Peanut peanuts that came in the old-fashioned Mr. Peanut shaped bottle. That made me very happy. :) I think Mindy told me about it - so mine can't have been the only one to do it...

No Waitrose in Scotland?  :o

When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.
