American foods found at Tesco, Morrisons and Asda
« on: September 24, 2005, 04:30:54 PM »
As per your suggestions I went to Selfridges at the Trafford Centre in Manchester today. I came back with macaroni and cheese, maple syrup and peanut butter (life's little essentials). I was in heaven.

Also here's American foods i've found at general grocery stores:

Asda - Skinny Cows, Pepperidge Farms cheesy fish snacks, Betty Crocker mixes, Paul Newman dressings etc...

Morrisons - Miracle Whip, Grape Nuts, Betty Crocker Mixes, Paul Newman dressings etc...

Tesco- Good REAL American Bar BQ sauce (can't remember the brand), Betty Crocker, Pepperidge Farms Choc'chip cookies, Grape Nuts, Paul Newman dressings, Jerky, some little coffee packets from San Fran, Skinny Cows.

If anyone finds other American goodies please let me know.

Happy hunting.

The Sainsbury's in Glasgow has real Canadian maple syrup, but it's pretty hidden. They must have that for the Canadian/American tourists!

I've seen Grape Nuts at Morrisons too (yay).
Plans on hold 'cuz Brexit

I know that Sainsburys offer a  good  variety of BBQ Sauces like Stubbs and another which I had never had before called Cattleman - went down very well with our neighbors at a BBQ !

Also thy stock a salad dressing from Texas called Brianna's which is delicious !

One non US product which I can highly recommend are Nando's sauces ( :)they are from my home country)

YES! ASDA has Goldfish! Wahooo! I bought 5 bags, my son loves them and I usually bring them back from USA. They also had Betty Crocker Cookie mixes in a bag! Also, wonderful ORANGE cheddar cheese in slices, so yummy! The ASDA by my house has just been rerurbished and it is looking more and more like Wal-Mart... it is huge, with just about everything in it.

Well, if you have any mates headed to Spain, ask them to bring you back some.  I hear they are available in there.

Hummm,

Saw Oscar Meyer hot dogs and bacon.  Vanilla instant pudding (Royal), Lay's and Ruffles potato chips and Cheetoes (sp).  Didn't see any Fritos though, but then was with mum-in-law and she doesn't like food shopping the way that I do.   :P

Tonight at our neighborhood Morrisons -- I saw something labeled 'Miracle Whip Balance'. Is this the same as Miracle Whip or what?  Anyone? ???
