Im sure Ive read of this on here before, but my husband (we just got married in half moon bay, california!) lives in Bristol and set this up on his end.  Now I call for FREE!  We've spent hundreds since we met on phone bills.  This is great because Im moving there in January and my friends/family can call me for free!  FREE!  The line quality isnt as bad as I thought it would be.  Occasionally we have our call dropped and I call right back.

I am a big fan of Skype. I am saving a fortune right now. I am away on bussiness for a couple months in Seoul. I have free broadband connection here so I can talk w/o the hotel charges. Its cheap even calling a land line.

Does work well, good quality too. I use it to speak to a client in France.

Skype is amazing and I don't know how we got along without it for so long!  Oh - right - massive phone bills.   :-\\\\

We love Skype - some nights I come home and we talk for hours.  On Saturday nights we have a Skype chat with some other Internet friends of ours from another forum I belong to, it's great fun!!  One night we had people on the call from Michigan, Georgia, England, and Israel!  It was very cool.

Skype rocks!!!  Free is good!!  ;D

Which headset do you use?  Right now I am using a bluetooth connection (to a mobile type headset) and am not thrilled with it.

I have a Labtec - Axis-302 headset that I actually use for taking computer based training at work.  I highly recommend it.  It is comfortable, and the sound and microphone quality are both excellent.

We were actually saying today that we need to write Skype a letter and tell them how awesome they are and how they have helped keep so many loved ones in touch who otherwise would have no other alternative but to spend zillions of dollars on phone bills.

They are the coolest to be sure.  I only wish I could go wireless with my headset so I'm not tied to the computer and can do stuff around the house while we talk.  Oh well - not complaining!!!  :)

It's great because it's free but does it keep cutting out on any of you?  It cuts out every 5 minutes!

I have never been cut off.  Are you using broadband or a dialup connection?

Have a look on ebay, they have wireless headsets that will work with a PC and Skype. The U.S site has Plantronic headsets for $39.95.  I havent looked on the UK site.
