Old Man - Wilson Phillips

So I went from day to day
Tho' my life was in a rut
Till I thought of what I'd say
Which connection I should cut

Solsbury Hill - Peter Gabriel

Music loud and women warm,
I've been kicked around since I was born.
And now it's all right. It's OK.
And you may look the other way.

We can try to understand
The new york times effect on man...

Stayin Alive  O0

Blood on the rise, it's following me
Think about the break of day
She came and then she drove away
Sunlight in her hair

Ooops...  :-[

Mekaw yours is:  Peace Frog - The Doors (and maybe others too?)

OK this is a funny song but so old I won't be surprised if nobody knows it.  But I'll give it a shot.  After all, WK knew Cole Porter  ;)...

And on her jaw was the Royal Flying Corp
And on her back was the Union Jack
Now could you ask for more?
All up and down her spine
Marched the Queen's own guard in line
And all around her hips
Sailed a fleet of battleships.

Tattooed Lady - Kingston Trio

Once a high-ballin' loner who thought he could own her
He bought her a fur coat and big diamond ring
But she hocked 'em for hard cash, left town on the Wabash
Never thinkin', never thinkin' of home way back then

Bob, I guess I'm going to need a hint please?  It's clearly American.  Sounds country and maybe familiar, but I can't think of it...

*BTW how did you happen to know Tattooed Lady?  Impressive.

a little bluegrass never hurt no one specially one as charming as Tattooed Lady And over her left kidney was a bird's eye view of Sidney but what we liked best was upon her chest
My little home in Waikiki! (What did you say?)

Anyhoo back to the one at hand....
This one has been done by a few bluegrass bands but can't recall .
But think country

Here's a few more lines...

Shes a semi-good looker
But the fast rails they took er
Now shes tryin, just tryin to get home again

Yeppers....knew you'd get there  ;D

She's a railroad lady, just a little bit shady
Spendin' her days on the train
She's a semi good looker, but the fast rails they took her
Now she's tryin', just tryin' to get home again.

Yay!  ;D

My baby don't care for cars and races
My baby don't care for high-tone places
Liz Taylor is not his style
And even Lana Turner's smile
Is somethin'' he can't see

nina simone   my baby just cares for me

 Heaven is closer now today
The sound is in my ears
I can't believe the things you say
 They echo what I fear
Twisting the bones until they snap
I scream but no one knows
You say I'm familiar cold to touch
And then you turn and go
its a far better thing i do than i have ever done

Fiction Factory

Where have you been? It's all right, we know where you've been.
You've been in the pipeline, filling in time,
provided with toys and 'Scouting for Boys'.
You bought a guitar to punish your ma,
and you didn't like school, and you know you're nobody's fool
