The best edamane experience is eating them in a Japanese restaurant where you shell the cooked beans at the table.

The frozen ones are just fine. I found them in my local Waitrose but not my local Sainsbury's.

Marks & Spencer sells them also in the little flat tubs.  I think they sell them both shelled and unshelled.  Fiance is vegan, so we look for things like that that are ready to eat, and he has decided these are quite good.

No, Q-G. Soya beans and edamame are the same thing, it has nothing to do with preparation.

they are usually eaten as a starter when they are still in the shell.

here I eat them plain or mixed with some veggie dish.

I put them in all sorts of things. Just today I made a veggie cottage pie with carrots, onions, edamame and seitan with a sweet potato top. Yum!

If you didn't like them, you probably either overcooked them or didn't add enough salt.

I think maybe I just don't like the taste of them.

Haha! I was going to say, no, no, I think it's really just the taste I don't like! I've tried them cooked, as snack food, in salads...don't like them.

We actually had the frozen soya beans last night for dinner but I didn't know they were called edamame!!  I like them but I have always liked all kinds of beans... lima beans, kidney beans, peas, etc
