Oh Cait, poor little guy. Sounds like you're doing the right thing for him and good that he is interested in W&G and is hopefully less lethargic.

Has he an appetite at all?

Thinking of you guys.

Well, he's down to 100.8 this morning without the aid of medicine and tepid baths, so hopefully he's on the mend.  For all my experience with children, this is the first time that I've seen such a high fever with no obvious cause.  ???

Just noticed this thread. I hope by now Niall is feeling better.   :-[
Coby is prone to febrile seizures so the minute we see he is getting sick we have to start staggering the Calpol/Nurophen for a few days. Also we keep his room a bit on the cool side at night because he is a very hot sleeper even when he isnt sick.

Whew, Cait!  Keep us posted on your little man.  Hope he continues to improve.  He's not so much older than Aillidh, and it's so terrifying when they fall ill like that.

Glad he's feeling better.  We had the same thing last year.  Day care called me because DS had 102 fever, by the time I got him home it was 104.  The doctor wouldn't see us for 24 hrs, and by the next morning he was fine.  All the dr could say is sometimes it happens.  We still had him checked out for a cause, but there wasn't one.

Well, last night he was back up to 104+ after spending the day in the 100.x range.  Still no obvious signs of sickness, but if it continues to persist, we'll go off to the GP again.

When my eldest dd was about that age she spiked a fever of 105.  Nothing obviously wrong other than the fever.  Rushed her to the dr....who said he thought it was likely a sinus infection.  Could that be a possibility?

Hope the little guy is feeling better soon.... :(

I wouldn't have thought so.  He's not showing any signs of it.

She wasn't either.  She seemed ok one minute, the next she just laid down on the floor all glassy eyed.  Scared the heck out of me!  It was just a thought....the dr could well have been wrong.  I'm not one to encourage antibiotics for every little thing, but have they done a white count?  Could he just have some wierd infection that an antibiotic might help?

Wow, thanks for letting me know!  He's back down to the low 100.x's tonight, but if it raises again, we are defo back to the Dr because it will have been 3 days worth of unexplained fevers.

Hang in there !! I was surprised that the Ibuprophen didn't reduce the fever quicker though...

well wishes.
But never fear, gentlemen; castration was really not the point of feminism, and we women are too busy eviscerating one another to take you on.
