I've still seen the wake you up kind of pills at the register at gas stations, but you can't get anything with psueoephadrin off the shelf anymore.  It's either behind a locked cabinet (like the baby formula at my corner drug store) or there are little cards on the shelf you take to the pharmacist and they give you the pills.

I'm going to try that new Vick's 'First Defense' and see if it really does halt a cold before it gets a grip.

Sorry this is old but I'm in the grips of a god awful cold and wanted to talk about it.

I tried this a month or so ago but never again. It's awful! And the fact that you have to keep taking it until you start to feel better. Shooting it up once is gross enough but several times a day for several days is too much. Bleh.
There are two things in life for which we are never truly prepared:  twins.

Thanks!  I almost picked it up in Costco the other day.  Think I'll stick to syrups w/codeine in them to get to sleep!

I bought some First Defence to keep handy in case that 'coming down with something' feeling hit either of us.  What a drag to find out it doesnt work, especially after paying £7.99 for it!  :-\\\\
