Our Tesco's doesn't carry Libby's so it might be a case of hit or miss.

Waitrose carried them all last Autumn, but so far, nothing. :-/

Sorry, I always get excited at this time of year for the hunt for the canned pumpkin!

Oh hey, I found Libby's Pumpkin at the Waitrose in Godalming.  It was about £1.10.   :)

Hmmmm, my daughter in law said she couldn't find any in Godalming for Friday nite's party (I could have swore I mentioned Waitrose..ggggrrr).....did you buy it all? lol

Tis okay tho, I had a slight stockpile and will be able to make the requested pumpkin cheesecake for Halloween (at the Brit's request). Will still have enough for T'giving itself.

*wipes brow*

Sherry

(Our T'giving is buffet style this year with about 20 American/Brits in attendance. We should have enough food for an army with all the contributions. Looking forward to tasting all the different foods!)

LOL.  No, I did not buy all the pumpkin at the Godalming Waitrose.  I was very well behaved and limited myself to four(you never know how many I'll need ::))  And I even asked if there was any more in the back.  So it was all stocked up when I left.  Must have been some other crazed American.   ;)

It's probably there, she just couldn't find it. Heard it was next to the tuna over the frozen food section (may depend on the store and the stocker's mood)......like, doh, who would look for it there?  :-/

Sherry
(thank goodness for backup tho ;))

It was in the tinned fruit section.  Under 'P'.   :)

Too funny about where they put the tins! It does make sense, but Americans would never find it there in US stores. I always found it, well, with all the Thanksgiving stuff at the front of the store! (Just like this last time when I was just in the US and picked up my pumpkin tin. Mwahahahah.)

Another good one to find a place to put is maple syrup...they put that with the dessert toppings.

What goes into a green bean casserole?

Green Bean Casserole:
mix, in a bowl:

2 cans (or frozen), french cut green beans
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
1 cup dried, french onions
3/4 cup chopped celery
1/2 chopped onion

put in a 2 qt caserole dish.
bake at 325 degrees F, or 160 degrees C, for 30 minutes.

add more french onions as a topping, and bake an additional 10 minutes.  (if you add the onions as a topping at the beginning, they will burn...)

i also like to add fresh mushrooms to the mixture...  ;)

(this recipe will serve about 8 people.)

yummie...!

Thanksgiving... my British husband loves to celebrate this American holiday with me!!!
