Grocery Delivery tipping??
« on: October 22, 2005, 11:01:08 AM »
I just started using Tesco grocery delivery, and they are very good.  Do I need to tip them?  If so how much?
THANKS!

This thread is about tipping practices in general including grocery deliveries.  A supermarket delivery driver would not expect a tip but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt if you wanted to.   It used to be common practice here to give a  Xmas card with some cash in it to the milkman and paper boy/girl, you could probably do that with a regular Tesco delivery person without causing offence.

Thanks Britwife,
So far I've used Tesco delivery 3x and have gotten 3 different drivers.  It doesn't seem like I have a regular one yet, but I am getting very comfortable with this whole grocery delivery thing, especially with a 2 year old that likes to throw tantrums in the store.
I will check out your link.
Thanks!
Sandra

There's a whole thread somewhere about grocery delivery, it's very popular here. I love it!

Grocery delivery . . . this alone makes living in the UK a beautiful thing! I can't wait. Better yet, my husband can't wait since he seems to be the grocery delivery guy at our houses.
