taco sauce substitute?
« on: October 24, 2005, 09:22:34 AM »
What do you guys use? I don't really like salsa on a burrito, or taco. My sis just sent some of the little packs from Del Taco and those places, and I've only got one left! I haven't found a good substitute yet....I don't like tobasco...and some of the chili sauces are too sweet...

You can get a large pouch of taco sauce with the Old El Paso taco kit!

I'm sure they have masa harina in the shop... you could phone and ask if they can post it.
I dont buy it anymore, now that they sell corn tortillas.
In fact, i gave my tortilla press away to another expat (who never even bothered to thank me for it!).

I love salsa, but mostly on nachos, or mixed with eggs, or for dunking tortilla chips in...I'll have to try and get some online, or do as Pebbles said and get the kit. Thanks everyone!

Ooooooooooooooooooh. My new best friend. Is the taco sauce nice?

And stupid question but whats the difference between traditional refried beans and vegetarian refried beans?
There are two things in life for which we are never truly prepared:  twins.

I believe that traditional refried beans are fried in pork lard and vegetarian refried beans are not.

I don't think it's Discovery. I don't care much for their stuff and that's all I can find here besides Old El Paso.

Anyway, I've seen Mission wraps at Morrison's and I've been looking for the tortillas but so far all I've seen is wraps. The Mission logo is up in the top corner and not big across the front like it is at home but it's clear that it's the same brand.
