Apparently, it is more painful to fit a coil into a woman who has not given birth than in one who has.  Dunno why, but there's a lot of stretching that happens in a woman who has had a child that goes on . . .  ;)

just curious, I had Courtney through C-section,how much pain am I in store for when I get the coil?

Probably not much.  The cervix undergoes a lot of changes during pregnancy whether you give birth vaginally or not - and of course the uterus stretches.

A few of my friends are quite pleased w/their coils.

i suggest having it fitted at GUM clinic, then, where the practitioners generally ahve more experience fitting them than most GPs.   and let them know your cervix is tilted.

I have the coil.  I had it put in about 3 months after my youngest was born.  I have had it for about a year and a half.  I had spotting for about the first three months but nothing major.  No periods or anything.  I love, and highly suggest it.  It is good for 5 yrs.

Well thats my opinion.

Take Care and good luck.

It's interesting to see how many different reactions people have to the depo, i have been considering getting it, but after reading so many horror stories was afraid to committ to three months worth of medicine, not knowing how i would react to it.  I know the Nuva Ring is not available yet in UK (at least that is my understanding), but was wondering if anyone on here has used it and if so, what they thought.
