I just watched Wisconsin Death Trip. It was really interesting. It is not a horror film, but is based on a book, which was based on a local paper from the late 1800's.
It just went through all the crimes in this tiny, not very populated area of Wisconsin.
We had a serial window smasher, a serial barn burner, a number of murder suicides, a number of mothers killing their kids and one case of a 13 yr old and a 10 yr old who ran away, killed a local farmer and tried to live in his house by themselves. As well as a bunch of people being locked up the depression due to mine failures and bank closures.
