Last night, I watched the 1974 version of The Stepford Wives. Entertaining movie, but very creepy! I have heard the new one is not as good, but I am curious to see it in order to compare.

Hmm, I've only seen the new one and I can't imagine anyone calling any version of that movie creepy.  Now I'm really interested in seeing the 1974 verson... must be way different? :)

It ends with the supermarket scene.  Much creepier. And with much less comic relief. Classic, but makes you watch your SO veeeeeeeeeeery closely for awhile. . . ;)

Ohh, I need to get that one on DVD, do they still have it?  We used to watch it in Uni all the time.  I think I know all the songs by heart still.  And, I had a Sebastion stuffed animal.

We just finished Beautiful Girls, love that movie!!!

We just watched Enduring Love. Very good but heavy with lots of subtlety and nuance.

Since I have not seen the new one, I cannot say. But pay very close attention during the movie, because it is littered with clues.

A friend of mine has seen both, but she said she preferred the 1974 one because it was more subtle. But, I just checked IMDB, and it seems to have 10 sequels!    :-X

Let's take our wigs off in the shopi aisle and fight it out.

Whow, then I'll make sure to remember is was 1974 and not like 78 or something, LOL 10 sequels?  I didn't realize the movie was that popular.   :o

Just make sure Katharine Ross is in it... officially released in 1975:  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0073747/
Paula Prentiss is the only real 'comic relief' in it, and even that turns dark.
It's a very good film.

I thought the book was fab!  (Been hesitant about renting the movie -- you know the old book > movie thing.)

What we've seen lately:

Une Pure Formalité -- older Gerard Depardieu film (mid-90s)

and

Finding Neverland -- loved it!

Bewitched.  It had so many opportunities to be good, but kept veering off in the wrong direction.  Too bad, because I love Will Ferrell.
