aww pants sorry ...was this your first paper turned in for UK marking...I remember when I got my first paper I thought I did well but completely bombed it because of the style was too American...also did you have the paper viewed by your tutor before turning it in..that helps a lot just to double check that I am on the right track.

So sorry!  Can you re-do it?  Sometimes at the Uni I worked at they gave students a second chance to do their papers.  (This was for distance learning)

No, I spoke to my tutor and she said there is nothing I can do but to forget about it and move on to the next assignment. At the end of the term they will throw out the lowest score so if I do well on the other assignments Ill be OK but its so depressing! I always do well at given tasks and this was really a smack in the face!  :-\\\\

I do have a very sweet tutor. She keeps sending me *hugs* emails because she knows how depressed I am.  :-\\\\

Also, I dont wanna go on and on about it so everyone things Im a major whiner! So, Ill try to get back on that horse and move on!

sorry about your paper but don't get too hung up on it.. just try to focus on the good bits that you wrote and find out how you can improve the not-so-good bits.. I bet you'll get back to your A* streak with your next paper :)

:-\\\\  So sorry to hear it, girlie...  I can empathize.  The essays & tests I feel the best about are the ones that I end up crapping out on.  If it makes you feel any better, I once got points taken off a History 101 test for misspelling my name.  Ah, youth.  I hadn't yet gone to bed.  Fortunately, I was able to drop the class.

Now, I wish I had not read this thread because the first two essays of my (real) academic career are due tomorrow.  I may soon be joining you.  I was okay with the essays before but now I am shakin' in my boots.  but at least I spelled my name right this time.

i hope.

(hugs)
had a bit of a wobble.

Well Pebbles I'm going to join you at the bar to drown my sorrows as well. I had an assessment today and I completely fecked it up just because I was nervous and I find one of the assessor intimidating. So instead of just focusing on the work I just kept getting more and more flustered. I had 2 assessors in my room where everyone only had one or the other. The other students said that their assessment went well and she gave them prompts whenever the student went on in a tangent...I didn't anything just eye rolls which flustered me even more :-\\\\

Oh well I get to go through it again on the 29th which is annoying because as I was heading to the library out on the street there was a man bleeding from his feet ...I went up to him and asked him if he was alright...he as an Asian male and was wearing sandals..unfortunately went through glass on the floor and mildly cut his feet. I asked him a few questions and told him if he needs to go to A&E I can help him across to the A&E (the university is across from the hospital) ...he said no he was just seconds from his house. He asked me what should he do and I gave him some advice and he thanked me for stopping and he went off ...SO it's crap I can be on the ball and can act on a moment in real life situations...but put me in a small room with two women staring at me and camera ....I completely feck up ::)

A couple of others have to retake it so I had to spend the time on the phone coaxing a student to not quit the program  :-\\\\ I'm more angry that I didn't focus and not gotten so nervous but I'm also miffed at the moddlycuddling some got ...particularly the male student he was assessed for nearly an hour ::) he said that whenever he forgot something she gave him hints to remind him of stages he left out...grr.

*goes for a tea* [smiley=bomb.gif]
