You can get canned pumpkin here in the UK but you have to search for it. But canned pumpkin pie filling we have never seen. The difference is spices and condensed milk. The pie filling is much easier,it saves a bunch of work!

Thanks, that's probably what I'm looking for! I've never actually made the pie myself before so I'm a little clueless. I know I'm going to be feeling extra homesick at Thanksgiving and thought pumpkin pie might help. ;)

also in the US they have powered cool whip- called dream whip i think.  it's a very good approxiamtion to cool whip.  and easier to travel with.

Ooohh...is that new? I might have to ask for it. :)

I got some pumpkin puree from a little local deli a few months ago. I dont know if its the same as canned pumkin or not but will be attempting to use if for pie for Thanksgiving.
