Hello, and many thanks again for this valuable website. It has saved me many tears and troubles.

I'm heading out on the 25th to be with Barry, on a settlement-marriage visa, the vaf2,  thank God! I've got three questions:

1) Evidently for us to get married the registrar in scotland will need proof for me that I'm eligible to marry. I'm a single woman without kids who has never been married. What form would this proof take and how would I get it? Is it necessary at all?

2) the visa says that I have 6 months Multiple entry starting the 15th of november, but I'm going on the 25th, is that a problem? (Thinking likely not just making sure.)

3) I've got the visa which means I've been approved - Is there any further procedure of approval at the immigration and customs, or is the pass-through just perfunctory? Will there likely be more checks and questions?

Congratulations!

In response...

1) The visa is the proof the registrar requires to marry you.

2) No, not a problem.  Just be aware that the marriage will have to take place within 6 months of the visa being issued, not 6 monhts from entry.

3)  They might want to ask you more questions, but if they do it will be the same sort of stuff you have already been asked, and is nothing to worry about.
