Genetics

OK, this is sort of weird to bring up... Maybe it's the full moon, Pebbles ?? :)

Anyway, DF and I were talking about children issues etc.  Even though we're not thinking of trying anytime soon after the wedding, we still like to have the same ideas in mind.

So it got me thinking, since we're from wayyyy different gene pools, I'm wondering if that will affect how our children look, etc.  Like I know many people who are more than one race, and they always have the most beautiful complextions!  My niece who is half Japanese for example... :)

I'm just thinking this also because I know that dogs, for example, tend to be healthier when they are mutts.

Also, I was browsing through the gallery after I put my own pictures up and noticed that all of your children are extraordinarily adorable.

I think most Americans by now are at least 3rd or 4th generation and I'm just wondering what you all think of us Americans giving some "fresh" genes to the pool?  Do you think there's anything to it? :)

I'm a very fair-skinned Hispanic with freckles.  My full sister is much darker complected with straight hair (mine's wavy).  Her face is totally different - she got the cute, turned up nose, for example, I got my dad's high cheekbones and broad forehead.  She also got cute feet and almost no body hair (my dad is half-Mayan Indian).  B*&ch. ;D

My daughter has curly chesnut hair w/gold streaks and pure green eyes.  She's tall and thin, with her paternal great-grandfather's facial features.  She was born with a head full of black, spiky hair and blue eyes.

What this baby will look like is anyone's guess.

Wow, your daughter sounds very beautiful!

She's a wee radge who just refused to utter a peep - besides 'It's a rabbit!' - at her health check just now.  She wouldn't draw, either, or even smile at the health visitor.  Instead she hid behind my husband.

Then she got out of the surgery and started saying, 'Brrr!  It's cold!'

I'm going to film her capering around playgroup shaking a tambourine whilst shouting, 'Oh!  Noisy!', or holding onto a forbidden item whilst shrieking, 'It's MINE!'

Ah, but does the poor radge have to come back in three months so they can ensure she can speak?  Niall did the same thing.  Wouldn't talk to the HV, wouldn't interact, ignored the crayons because they had a room full of other toys that he was wanting to explore.

As a result, we had to go back again three months later when he promptly did the exact same thing!

Jessica looks like my mum she's the same skin tone and hair colour as her..she did have a bit of gingerness when she was first born then her hair went much more brown. She's got her dad's forhead though ;D

Jessica was a B/C baby that's me being an avid user ....after we had Jess we said feck it and we haven't used ANY birth control method leaving it to fate really. Jessie is nearly 6 and she's been tapping her foot for a sister for 2 years now ...lol!!

But never fear, gentlemen; castration was really not the point of feminism, and we women are too busy eviscerating one another to take you on.

I think she and Niall must communicate telepathically, b/c yes, this is the 2nd time she's done this.  And they want her back in 4 months.  Only this time I'm going to film her chattering away and give it to the health visitor.

She doesn't do crayons anymore.  Only 'markers', which thankfully Crayola makes some washable kinds, b/c her fav thing to do is draw on others and say, 'I draw off you' whilst giggling furiously.  Also tearing apart folded stacks of laundry whilst whispering, 'Naughty.  Naughty girl.'

I've got mine trained!  He sorts laundry now ... "Dark pile, mum."

He is currently hopping around the house like a mad rabbit saying, "Don't bounce in the house!"  If only he'd take his own advice.  *sigh*  The poor downstairs neighbours!
