Oohhhh...good one!!  We have fry light spray.  Do you think that will work?  I'll look for the other today and go to Tesco's.  Thanks!

That fry light spray I think is that pump one...isn't good...I saw a new aresol can...that would be much much better!

Fry light is aerosol, but if you think it's not good, I'll look for the others.  Thanks!

If that is like Pam cooking spray, I think it is good, but not necessarily any better or easier than just using a bit of cooking oil and a paper towel.

What's on the menu at your house tomorrow, Allison?

Well, here's what I have so far:

Chestnut, Orange and Cranberry stuffing and some of my Grandmother's recipe (thanks Pamela for yours, but I think I will use my Grandmother's for a bit of a familyl touch!!)

Cranberry sauce

I'm struggling w/the turkey as I'm a veggie.  My husband is mainly veggie, but eats turkey.  So, my neighbor suggested a turkey joint at Waitrose.  I'll have a look as I'm not sure about it....  For me, I think I'm going to get some pumpkin soup from Waitrose.

Then..I have some pumpkin bread mix from .....WILLIAMS SONOMA!!!!  So, I'm going to make pumpkin bread and I have some pumpkin butter to put on it.

I'm not sure what to do for dessert.  My problem is that I'm not used to cooking, so I'm trying to keep it simple so I don't mess it up!!!

Have you ever seen A Christmas Story?  My fear is that we'll wind up at a chinese restaurant like they do in the movie!!!

How about you, Pamela?
I'm not sure wh

No worries, you should definetly use family recipes. That is the best for holidays. Though, if you want a really good pumpkin soup recipe, I can give you that...also from my head, no exact measurements...but everyone I make it for loooves it.

I am going to make a turkey joint, cranberry sauce, stuffing, potatoe parsnip mash, brussell sprouts, gravy and pumpkin pie. Pretty traditional stuff.

I totally agree, but my sister doesn't. We've already had two quarrels about silly things... the cool whip vs. redi-wip, roll out pie crust vs. pre-frozen crust. I haven't had an American Thanksgiving with the family in two years and I am leaving the country again in a couple of days so you think she'd be a bit nicer  :\\\'(

I am so sorry to hear that and I completely know the feeling. You can always count on family to make you feel really great or really bad! I guess they are the ones that know how to push our buttons the best. I would love to be arguing with my brothers tomorrow.

Hang in there!

Wondered what started the other thread... ;D

Any way you could spring for your very OWN tub of Cool-Whip (this is a deadly topic for me, I know- sorry), and just not let her have any? ;)

Comfort/ familiar food does mean something, particularly as you're leaving shortly. . .  :-\\\\

Sorry if that sounds overly simplistic, but. . . . might be the easiest wa to go on THAT particular issue. . .
