Ill toddler...
« on: November 24, 2005, 08:47:54 AM »
I awoke this early am to find my 2 year old vomiting in his bed.  I am not sure what has caused this.  Everytime he is sick, I then get sick, pregnancy is so attractive.  I am wondering if there is some sort of illness going around.  Does anyone have any ideas for soothing my ill little boy??

Oh poor boy!  I'm not sure what you can do for him, but I would say phone your GP!  Well, make sure he has plenty of fluids of course, and you too!

Thanks for the good thoughts.  He seems to have perked up a bit, still not his usual self.

So, Jackson has been ill since last week, Ashton has been ill for the last two days, My DH was very ill last weekend and I now caught the illness.  The doctor gave Jackson an antibiotic today, so hopefully this will help.  Ashton has been off school for two days, due to vomiting.

As for me, I am so ill, on top of being pregnant.  Not the most pleasent.  I am hoping we will all get better very soon.

I am tired, cranky........just needed to vent.  Thanks

Aw!  (((HUGS))).  Have SO been there!  That bloody sinus infection that went into my ears.  YUK.

Aillidh and Andrew have had a bad cough.  Aillidh refuses to take Robutussin, Tixylix, etc.  so we've had to stick to honey and lemon, a vaporiser in her room and pillows.

I do think there's a bug about.  I was violently sick after tea last night.  Maybe that's just - finger crossed - the body getting read for labour.

You able to get some sleep?

I had about 2 hours of sleep last night, so not much.  I took an hour nap today, I am hoping we all sleep well tonight.

Are you using Pedilite or Dioralite (I am sure I have spelt that wrong) for your two year old? I'm sure your doc mentioned it, it's helpful to combat dehydration after bouts of vomiting, mix it with water - tastes awful but helps getting the kids feeling a little better sooner.

Sorry to hear about your family, Maddie.  I hope you all feel better soon.

Can you find Pedilite here?  I've seen the other stuff.

Try some flat Sprite or 7Up as well.

You poor soul!  I hope it clears off soon.

I am not sure if they have Pedilite, though I told Matt to get rehydrating stuff for Jackson.  I was a bit vague, so he will ask at Boots.

Thanks Cait, I really want for us to be healthy and active.  Jackson has been sick for a week now.

We had a stomach bug that took the full 8 days to pass.  Doc said that as long as he was still wetting his diaper (how ever little) we had to wait the full week before they would do anything.  Lots of watery apple juice and the occasional cracker, but it passed.  Lots of hand washing and baths so I didn't get it too.
