Pregnant...I think?
« on: December 12, 2005, 06:53:19 AM »
Well, the date my period should've started came and went (26 Nov) and my husband and I were getting a bit suspicious as I'm never late...so we took a test 3 Dec and it was a negative.  I figured my period would start soon enough as I'd probably just psychologically stopped it or something...but still nothing happened so we decided to retest 8 Dec and I got a positive.  Took another to be sure and there was the + again!  Based on the NHS Direct site it says I'd be 5 weeks now and I've booked an appt with my GP but I am so shocked still!  Also, I don't have any symptoms whatsoever except the absent period...is this normal?  I just wish I'd feel a little more pregnant.  My husband says he'll remind me of that statement come July when I'm saying "I want this baby outta me!"  He's convinced I am, but this is all so new I just don't know what to believe!

Congrats!  If you do not have morning sickness, no need to wish for it.  Your body will show you over time you are pregnant, plus you will get some great ultrasound pictures.

Take Care of yourself!

Congrats! I didn't have any symptoms either, other than the missed period. But don't get too anxious for them, soon enough you will be wishing they would go away!! ;D

Congratulations!

I have had four pregnancies and just mild sickness with two of them...usually late in the afternoon is when it would hit me, and not until around 7-8 weeks or so.

Congratulations!

I think that women who are trying to get pregnant would notice symptoms earlier than women, who had been trying not to, as the ones who were trying were probably paying attention to every tiny possible symptom, in the hope that they meant they were pregnant.

although early pregnancy symptoms can be deceptively similar to menstrual cycle symptoms [albeit with no period!]
