Confused
« on: December 12, 2005, 11:20:17 AM »
OK, I am a bit confused about the whole immigration, leave to remain process.  When you go to the consulate you get an entry clearance, right?  and I kow that ILR comes after 2 years in the UK.  How about FLR, when does that happen?  Another thing, can I attend university on a spouse visa?  Would I get any sort of financial aid?  I know those questions are not of related subjects but the time is getting near and I am freaking out a bit cause I'm not quite sure I fully understand the process.

I understand that you must have 110 questions swimming around in your head right now.  Why don't you write one long post explaining the entire situation you're in, where you want to be, how you intend to get there, specific questions etc.  I think you may get more specific answers that are more applicable to your situation.  Cheers.

Your spousal visa is your FLR and serves as your entry clearance.  No need to apply for that separately.  After living in the UK for two years on your FLR, you'll apply for ILR.

You can attend university on a spousal visa, but you'll have to pay overseas tuition if you've lived here less than three years.  If you attend part-time, you might be able to get around that -- AnneR has posted something along those lines, so do a search for that info.
