hehehe I can't resist!!

In the USA - You work to live....

In the UK - You live to work....

Forgot to mention in my previous....Dennis, I think you have it backwards....in the US many folks "Live to Work". Like Ex-pat said some folks do not use their vacation days and do hold it as a badge of honor. Its beyond pathetic but true! Ex-pat thats not a dig at you as I know you are anti that kind of corporate money stuff. Hmm, can you tell I have had enough of the corp world?

A little sour today as some of my dear colleagues were made redundant yesterday afternoon..... :\\\'(

Ooops, meant to say "corporate monkey" not money stuff.... ::)

Jules, I was just about to say the same thing! In my experience it's MUCH more live to work in the US. I used to think it was sort of strange here that the first thing out of someone's mouth when you meet them wasn't "so what do you do?" now I really like that!

Anne,

You are correct....even though my environment over here isn't much different from the states I do know its different elsewhere! BTW - I want your job, sounds like a nice place to work!  ;)  Unfortunately I work for an American co over here so some of the Brits have latched onto the "oh, I was in at 7am and left at 9pm" mentality and they need to tell everyone about. Yes if its crunch time, no problem but day in and day out?  ::)

Yes - I think he got it the wrong way round too! ;D
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...
