While cooking, periodically roll the eggs in the water with a wooden spoon. This keeps the yold center in the white while cooking.

paula1219 does it work for you? I always roll the eggs as they cook and it doesn't seem to keep my yolks centered!

I wonder if marmite would go well in devilled eggs.

It's a spread made from yeast extract. It's quite yummy but people tend to go wrong by slathering it on which makes the taste pretty overpowering. You only need a little bit.

That's the way I've always boiled eggs and never had a problem.

And, Liz, I'm really trying to keep an open mind but sentiments seems to weigh heavily against Marmite!  :)

Just finished making a plate of devilled eggs to walk over to in-laws...OK, perhaps I should say half a plate!   :)
As far as Marmite...YUM!

Well I ended up mashing the yolks with horseradish sauce and mustard and they were yummy!! I think I'm going to make some more for supper!!

horseradish sauce instead of mayo that sounds yummyand sort of eliminates the need for the hot paprika!
