Yes, they have that effect!  Like 'Saf', I wanted another in the delivery room - totally daft after showing up at hospital 9cm dilated well under an hour before. :o

If it's any comfort, she was awake from 2-7AM this morning.   :\\\'(

Well, maybe the three old version that sleeps thru the night works just fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, maybe the three old version that sleeps thru the night works just fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!

she's wide awake just now.  we were hoping to get a nap after the last feed - no joy.  sleep all night?  no way!  i always laugh when i hear from first-timers, 'oh, she slept 6 hours straight the night she was born.'  yeah, you would, too after having your head squeezed thru the equivalent of flexible PVC pipe.  enjoy it, cuz it'll be the last time in a long time you sleep that much at a stretch unless you can afford a night and day nanny.

just read an interview w/gwyneth paltrow - 'i want loads of kids'.  hell i would, too, if i had a day and night nanny, 2 chefs to cover the 24 hours in a day, a personal trainer, cleaners, etc.

made me think of when my sister laughed at oprah's statement, 'I have innner peace.'  my sister, a mother of two daughters and full-time teacher, was like, 'sh*&, i'd have inner peace, too, w/a couple of billion bux behind me.'   ;D

She's precious, very happy for you and your family.  :)

What's that?  I'm still on this hormone high.  I know it will crash (at about 7.30AM on Tuesday morning, when my parents' plane from Newark lands at Edinburgh  ;)), but until then, I'm ridin' that wave as long as I can, cuz it ain't gonna last forever.

It's gonna be so nice to have your folks here!  Bet they can't wait to get their hands on the grandkids!!! (And THEN....maybe you can get a wee nap!!!)  :)
When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

mummy and daddy can't wait, either.  sleeeeeepppp.  home cooked meals w/washing up to follow.

i feel guilty b/c im unable to take aillidh out much- my body's still a bit weak and sore and the baby requires a lot of feeding and has thrown the sleep schedule out of whack - so it will be nice for her to enjoy some of the festivities w/grandparents specifically there to spoil her rotten.

I think it is really hard for the oldest to adjust. Our first two are only 15 months apart and are now 8 and 9. I'm not sure that my oldest has yet adjusted to having a little sister!

The oldest needs alot of special time and care and attention in the beginning. Nice to have extra hands to help with this.

she wants to sit on my lap or for me to pick her up everytime i put roisin in her sling - aillidh is 2.5.  i can fit her on my lap, but can't pick her up b/c she is heavy and also b/c my two abdominal muscles have pulled too far apart and i need physio.  but i'm trying to compensate.  still, it will be SUPER nice to have some help.  my MIL and SIL are taking her out tomorrow to see the reindeer, the merry go round and have lunch.

she's my little princess, always such a joy to me b/c i thought i'd never get the chance to have children.  she made my dreams come true.

I felt so many strings in my heart being pulled when we had our second child, because of the adjustment (or lack there of) that our first went through. It's tough, but in time everyone falls into their place . . . and for us, just as that had worked itself out, we had our third daughter. That's a whole new thread!!!!!!!!!
