Locking Your Checked Bags

I was just out on the website for the airport (picking up Simon tomorrow!!!!) and found that there are now TSA accepted locks for checked baggage!  These are locks that only TSA (Trasportion Security Administration) can open if they need to search your bag, but can not be opened by your basic thug who wants to steal stuff.

They're great -- I used them when I moved.  I bought my Travel Sentry locks at Home Depot.

i've been using those plastic lock-ties, like you'd use to hold wires together, instead of locks. that way, they can cut them open if they want to check my bags, and if they don't i know my luggage hasn't been rifled through.

so far, so good. used them on my last two transatlantic journeys.

The locks are great--we've been using them since they came out. You can usually buy them airports in the US as well--places like Brookstone.

I didn't have those locks originally, and they checked my baggage because I had a "toy" in there that supposly set off some flags. and my lock was busted open. I'll use those for now on though!

wow, great! I just returned from the USA and I HATE leaving my bags unlocked! Im ordering some and some for my mother as well. Thanks for the link!

I one of the links she posted has an option to buy however I found them much cheaper on Ebay!
