My son could be the poster child for Old Navy. ::)  But, I love that their toddler clothes look like regular kid clothes and aren't all covered with cutesy trucks and doggies and the like.

I didn't know Banana Republic did kid's clothes!  This could be very dangerous.  Must. Not. Click. On. Link.

That is what I think I am going to have to do. I find baby clothes so expensive here! Granted, I lived in a place with outlets for both Carters and Childrens Place, but with them plus Old Navy and Target, I never paid more than $2-3 for anything for my daughter. Now she has finally begun to outgrow everything I bought before we moved over and I have started to look for clothes - even M&S is expensive! It seems like everything I see is 10GBP or more . . . So a friend in the US just volunteered to shop for me if I would email her a list of what DD needs, in which sizes.  My inlaws are coming to visit in March, and my MIL likes to shop for clothes for DD so I am going to email a similar list to her and tell her to go crazy at the outlet mall. I've already decided that when we do get to go back for a visit, I will be taking an empty suitcase to bring back all the shopping I am going to do!
Stop waiting. Start doing.

try the Cherokee line in Tesco.  Just picked up a pair of jeans and a pair of cords for Aillidh there for £3 each.

Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately the only Tesco near me is an express - and when we move in January it is to a small town with only (!) a Waitrose  ;D but I will check out the larger town that is about 3-4 miles away. I'm sure they would have a big Tesco.  I really appreciate the tip.

I second expat's suggestion of Tesco's Cherokee line. It's quite good value and I tend to buy my nephew loads of clothes to ship to my sis in California! (I can't help myself when it comes to baby clothes!)
