Pillsbury
« on: December 22, 2005, 10:50:44 AM »
I am stationed in Naples, Italy where we have an American supermarket on base.  I came to London to spend Christmas with my fiance a couple days ago.  I love cookies but I am no Martha Stewart so I bought one pack of Pillsbury ready to bake white chocolate and macademia nut cookies.  When I was getting ready to put them in the oven my fiance started questioning me on wether I was gonna roll this cookies or what.  The entire idea of just ready to bake cookies was foreign to him and his housemates.  They dubbed it "an american invention".  Do they really not have that here?  I am just curious because I love their biscuits, cookies, rolls, etc.

I think I have seen some ready-bake cookies here, but you definitely don't see the selection you would see in the US.
Insert wonderfully creative signature here …

No Pillsbury here, that im aware of... but we do have a brand of ready-made choc chip cookie dough in a plastic tub.  Dont know the name of it.

The same (unknown) brand also does a tube of croissants and pain au chocolat... but they are hard to find.  Whenever i see them, i buy several.  :)

But that's pretty much it... most people bake 'from scratch', i reckon.
