LOL! No, I didn't do the bows... I was one of those scary goth chicks with the ripped fishnets, and pink Chuck Taylors.

But I did rip up a fair bit of clothing to suit my style.

Where i was at, you either wore Chuck's or Doc Martins and if you wore either, you were a part of the whole "Skater" crowd.  Looking back at pictures of what we wore, oh my god!!  Bad thing is, i still have a pair of DM's i wear from time to time, major flashback.  And the Misfits t-shirt to go with it, thankfully, it is no longer in any condition to be worn outside the house! :-[

the first nintendo with duckhunt
clear pepsi
everyone wanting to be a goonie
everyone had their favorite NKOTB boy
when MTV actually played music
Ruffled shirts were popular
going rollar skating every friday/saturday

Yep, hung out at the roller rink or the bowling alley. And the ruffled shirts!  [smiley=laugh4.gif]  I loved Super Mario Bros on the Nintendo. Did anyone do friendship bracelets?

And I remember the guys would wear those pants in those wild patterns, looked like they were meant for skaters or surfers, usually in neon colors. And we had the sweatshirts like out of Flashdance.  [smiley=puke.gif]

LOL Carly sounds like you grew up with me. We lived at Skating World too  ;D And oh yeah I remember the friendship bracelets, we made tons of them. What about friendship pins? Did anyone do those?

Yes. How about the barrettes braided with ribbon that hung in long "streamers"down your hair, often with little flowers attached to the ends? This may have been a regional thing but it was very popular in the northeast US.

Nope there were no barrettes with streamers for me, we had the headbands and later banana clips  ;D We were stylin! I think what I laugh at most is how we had to have the ankles of our pants rolled tight or pinned half way up the leg. Oh my, nowdays there is no way you are going to get me to wear jeans with tapered legs. Funny how we change so much.. well unless any of you got stuck in the 80s/90s it's been known to happen now and then and nothing to be ashamed of  ;D  ;)  :D

OK, I was starting to think I was too old for this thread (my neice read BSC books, not me!) but I do remember making those barrettes!  ;)
