estate/letting agents?
« on: August 15, 2002, 07:41:43 PM »
Does anyone have any recommendations for property letting agents?  I have e-mailed a few in the Guildford area.  A very nice man from Principal telephoned this morning (at 7 am!) and we had a nice conversation.  Basically we can't really start looking at properties until we get there.  It will take a few weeks to get our moving shipment anyway, so we have some time to look around.

Thanks!
Stephanie

jsut a note re: www.fish4lettings.co.uk (since marlespo mentioned it in another post):

when i used this and rang up some agents for a viewing, a couple snapped at me saying that the fish4 site is up to 2 years out of date.  (whatever happened to friendly service?)

anyway, beware of this site!

If you're looking in London, the best, most comprehensive site for properties being let through agents is Find a Property (http://www.findaproperty.co.uk). Also, do not neglect Loot (http://www.loot.com/), where you'll tend to find properties being let directly by their owners (I prefer not to deal with agents when it can be avoided).

Find a Property covers the entire country, though its coverage certainly weakens outside of the major cities. Loot also covers regions outside of London but I believe it's rather spottier.
