You can always go to his profile page & block him (bottom left of his page)...it's not permanent, as you can change your mind and un-block him later...but it prevents him from seeing you at all on facebook and so he cannot add you or send you messages...an idea you might want to try.
If you don't respond to his request and hold him in limbo, he can't re-add you. I do that with "networkers" who are looking for anyone working for my company.

Thanks, good suggestions.  I'd thought about the blocking thing....didn't want to hurt his feelings even more by going that far, but may consider it...
Interesting perspective, Andee, didn't think about it that way.  Why do you think it's best
for him not to witness your life?  You broke up with him?
Prob best to not get into it in a public forum, but we all know how tricky these things can be sometimes.  :)

I didn't make it through the phone interview because I don't have my ILR visa yet.  :\\\'( They said they needed a visa with at least 15 months left before the expiry date and since mine is already expired, technically, I'm not eligible for the job until my new visa comes in. And I really wanted that job. Oh well, hopefully the company I currently work for won't fold before I get my visa in, but things are looking really bad at the minute.  :-[

Sorry to hear that.  :( Nothing worse than stupid visa stuff getting in the way.  I'm sure once it's all sorted you'll find something just as good, if not better.

Nerves
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

If you don't respond to his request and hold him in limbo, he can't re-add you.

beware of this as there had been a glitch that allowed people you who you didn't accept or decline to view your full profile.  They were susposed to fix this, but i don't know if they have yet.

You can add people and allow them to only view your limited profile or put them on different lists to limit what they can see.  they are then your friend (no hurt feelings), but can only see what you want them to see (you have control.)  I've done it with people and it just looks like you don't use facebook really. My husband has several lists and uses them when there is something that my 15 year old neice doesn't need to see, but is fine for everyone else.

that sucks Jewlz, I'm sorry. At least they didn't have you go through the whole interview process and offer you the job and THEN tell you.  Have you been waiting long?

Oh no. :( Will they keep you in the pipeline for when you have your ILR?

Thanks everyone, it's just been 4 weeks since I sent it away. So I possibly have another 10 weeks to go, or it could arrive at any time. But holy cow, I just realized that I missed a delivery today and that could be it!!!!  :o I didn't even think of that until just now because my best friend and my mom both posted some stuff to me last week, but the notice they left said a signature was required and neither my mom or my friend sent the items by any special delivery service, plus the postie then went to my mother in law's house and tried to deliver there, but no one was home so he left a note for me there, too, with signature required checked on it. Woohoo! Fingers crossed!  :o I called the post office this afternoon and asked them to deliver to my office tomorrow so I could sign for it, so I will know tomorrow morning whether it's here or not. Oh wow, I feel so hopeful now!!!

The lady was very nice and said for me to sign back into my application on their site and update my details with my visa information and I could still do the interview as long as the job was still available. So if that is my visa, then I can hopefully reschedule the phone interview tomorrow! That would be great!

How annoying on the interview, but hope that it was your ILR! That would be ace.

Mine is blooming stinking disgusting mice of evil. We moved house because of our last in-ability to get rid of mice and I just saw a freaking mouse run out from our fireplace.

Seriously, I will burn the house down if I have to, I am not living with mice.
I'm currently creating a humane mouse trap from a bucket, peanut butter, a coathanger and a can. It better catch the bugger.
