So.... the telephone interview I was really excited about today turned out to just be the company calling to say they are sorry but all positions in our area have been filled already. Umm, thanks a lot for making me hang around until the exact time on the exact date and everything instead of just emailing me or calling me ahead of time to tell me this. And I really felt hopeful about that job, too, so now I'm all disappointed.  :\\\'( I did get a call from an agency today who is forwarding my CV onto their client, but I don't know what that means. Nothing, I guess, unless the client calls me for an interview.  :-\\\\ I'm glad I got to see my niece today so at least the whole day didn't suck.

ETA: Also, it's my Mom's birthday today and she hasn't gotten the special birthday card I sent her.  :(

Aw, bummer. :( It would be nice if companies would realise that bad news is less bad (or, at least, more helpful/courteous) if delivered as soon as possible, rather than putting it off to the last minute and leaving people hanging.

Aww Jewz, that sucks, for lack of a better word! I hope things go better with the agency and the next employer.

I've got 4 hotmails...for god knows what reason...but I have them linked together so I don't have to physically sign & out I just use the drop down under my name on the right hand corner and switch between accounts easily. Have you tried that?

No I haven't tried it... thanks for the info - I didn't even know you could do anything like that :)!

So the water pump that died on Tuesday (in my long list of sh*t wot went wrong)? Replacement parts are out of stock so while we wait for those, my fiance bought a cheaper replacement pump to tide us over. It was £80 vs the £200 for our usual Clarke, but it had a 3 year warranty and Amazon overnighted it to us...

The $%^@#$*$@# thing was faulty - broken seals out of the box. They didn't even bother to check it before it left the factory. My fiance wrote a scathing letter to go back with it as he's returning it, but how can a refund help give us running water? Seriously, every single day without water is extremely difficult - washing your hands is a two-man operation and it's almost impossible to do the washing up. I feel crap enough already with my cold without having to blag showers off the neighbours each evening and fill the kettle from a standpipe.

So now our only option is to suck it up and buy another £200 Clarke to tide us over until the parts for the other arrive (so we at least have a back up for next time). And write a really fuming blog post about it to our boaty friends so they never, ever buy a sh*tty Silverline pump.

Oh, and because of the £200 pump expense, now we can't go and buy his wedding suit this weekend. F*CK YOU SILVERLINE PUMPS!

Wore my usual shorts + tank top for the tube ride, then got to work and realised that my jeans are still in my flat. :( Oh well, it's Friday and it's my last day, so they'll have to deal with me in gym shorts for the day.

I think I need a solicitor- the letting agents have just told me that a bunch of appliances have failed PAT testing - "due to my negligence of keeping the flat damp"

 >:(  Maybe even having an inspection done to show why the flat is so damp and that it's not your fault? I found out the reason ours is bad is because the roof is faulty. My landlord actually told me that when he was giving out about the building owners painting when they should be fixing the roof.

I'm thinking of that.

Not to mention my dehumidifier was running 24 hours a day and being emptied every day. I can show the date bought.  Electric bills for the winter can show that it was definitely on. They did not fix the underfloor heating in the sitting room. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
