My eyes can't agree to cooperate and let me see stuff. :(

My left (crap) eye is...crap. It's massively nearsighted, but can at least focus on text if it's super close up.

My right eye is now farsighted, thanks to the surgery. It seems to be great for road signs, billboards, anything large-ish and far away. Any text closer than 10 feet? Forget about it.

So that means that most of my day is spent looking at semi-blurry text because my right eye can't see it and my left eye can but is crap at it. Given that my job involves staring at a computer screen for 8 hours/day, this isn't fun. :(

I'm hoping all of this improves as my brain gets used to the different images, but we'll see.

Ugh,  that sounds awful. :/
Hope it improves for you soon!

the surgery im registered at.

It is literally one of the worse surgerys in the UK (this is not my opinion, but a fact, its been in the papers numerous times)

You have to wait 3 weeks to get an appointment, and you never get the same GP, why? because GP's there come and go constantly. They always have new GP's everytime I have an appointment. The GP's change atleast once a month And a majority of the GP's there speak little or no english. and their medical knowledge is crap
I am annoyed about how the NHS is aware of these problems, and its always in the papers about it, but NOTHING is being done.

I actually had one of the GP's tell me that its unusual to have bruising around the area where you have surgery!!! I HAD TO explain to him how it isnt unusual to get bruising around that area, and how its actually expected! and his response was "oh right"
and then when he made a comment about a birth defect I have, i explained to him that its always been like that due to my medical condition, and his response was "are you sure about that?" ...hmmm let me think for a second..am I sure that Ive had a birth defect my entire life or did i just wake up that morning with it and convinced myself its always been there??????
 ..GRRR!!!

Woke up this morning to grey skies, sprinkles and the leaves on the trees are starting to change colours and are starting to gather on the ground...summer's over.

I keep getting asked back to do odd jobs at the place where I had my work placement earlier in the year.  This is great, since I can use all the experience and good references I can get.

But, the problem is they asked me to do some stuff this week and for some reason I said yes even though my dissertation is due in a little over 2 weeks and I don't even have half of it written.

Why can't I ever say 'no'?!

I opened a new pair of contacts this morning because I tore my right one this morning. Now normally, I have to actually clean them overnight with perioxide first, because my eyes hate brand new contacts- they are sensitive to the stuff that it sits in (thus why daily disposibles would not be an option for me!).  However, I was not antcipating this tear in the lens, so now I get to spend all day scratching my eyes and putting rewetting drops in.  I could have just worn my glasses, but I hate riding my bike with glasses, because sweat just drips into them and they fog up.

Finally decided to visit the leisure center to maybe join the gym and to get out of the house on a daily basis. Waited over 30 minutes and NO one helped me in the gym counter after I was told by reception to go there... hmmpfff

I left...I am hoping to call and make a REAL appointment to hear of my options but I dont want to commit to long commitments and £30 a month is a lot for me since I am paid in USD

If it's like the leisure centre near me, they have 2 options for payment - either monthly direct debit (which can be canceled anytime given 30 days' notice to stop the bank draft) or PAYG. Both had annual fees, as well, but they still weren't too bad. Better than the gyms I joined in the states which locked you in for years at insane prices!

Tonight was my seventh day in a row working, and it was crazy.  At one point I had 14 people at the bar and six bar tables.  They all came in at approximately the same time.  I was by myself and the manager only helped me a little.  (Although she did praise me for not freaking out and handling myself well when I was slammed  :D)  Still, it was stressful and I had one lady yell at me for being "slow" and then tip me 5 bucks on $75.   ::)

After the mayhem began to slow down, my manager came up to me and asked me if I could cover a shift tomorrow.  I looked at her and said, "Well, I'd love to- but this is day 7 in a row for me." Her reply- "Well, can you?"  :P Really?

I said no.
