Drunk dialing your friends in the states, then realizing they are all still at work while you are clearly hammered and rambling on like they have nothing better to do but listen to you.  :P

My mom is newly retired and she is BOMBARDING me with short, inane emails about wedding crap all day long. She really need to employ a mental filter - "Do I really need to bother Melissa with this, or can I handle it myself?"

Seriously, the woman has a PhD and she's asking ME to read the instructions on the registry site and spew them back at her? Aaaagghhhhhhhh!

Our bus was nearly 1/2 hour late this morning and then in the next town there were further delays as there had been an accident at the intersection with Mass. Avenue  >:(  No big deal if I'm late but I resent having to stand at the bus stop for 3/4 of an hour (if you don't get there early-ish you could miss it if its early!  ::))

Oh don't I know that feeling ALL too well!   ;)

My IA: finally going to bed at a decent hour only to have my husband come home slightly inebriated after going out with his friends and making a whole bunch of noise (which I had a difficult time getting back to sleep from) when I had to get up in two hours time.   >:(

I tried to make some courgette soup and it was  [smiley=bleck.gif]. Oh well, I did make lots of other stuff today and it was all good except for that, so that's not too bad and I still have loads of courgettes to make something else with (minestrone would have been better, but I didn't have many other vegetables to hand). I hate to be wasteful, but, really... ew.  :-\\\\

I used to make a really good side dish with courgettes, tomatoes, onions, maybe garlic and herbs all sauteed together. Then melt some cheese on top. Easy and uses up those zukes!

Yes, I think I will do something like this with some of the others or maybe some fritters or something. Two of them are absolutely huge, almost marrows, so I could stuff one and bake it, and then the other one could be sliced and breaded and fried with some marinara on the side. I ended up getting loads of them from FIL's garden, too bad I wasted a couple on that awful soup, though!  :P At least I made a yummy cucumber salad today with the big cucumber he gave us!

The bill for my new contacts and glasses.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Zucchini bread!  ;D
