I've had a cold for the past week or so but was feeling pretty ok toward the end of last week...this morning I woke up blood tinged uck stopping up my sinuses, my tonsils are the size of golfballs, my glands in my neck are swollen & painful and I can't swallow. Great, tonsilitis...again. I just hope the GP can see me today  >:(

NHS walk in told me they didn't deal with breast lumps and I needed to see my GP :(

I told her it wasn't like, an ordinary breast lump but an infection, cyst, painful lump but mean receptionist insisted :( Very sad right now as it's quite painful. Hopefully will resolve itself before I can get back to London.

What about A & E?

Get better soon!

Materials for a course I cancelled arrived yesterday - now I have to go into town tomorrow to drop them off. And inside was a set book you are supposed to buy, which I bought before I cancelled the course 'cause I thought I'd be better.  ::)

I agree with others and contact either NHS direct or go to A&E. I hope you get seen by someone today.
Hope your cough improves Sarahjoyhappy and that you can see a GP today Weby!

I hate the cow.
I hate the cow.
I hate the cow.
I hate the cow.
I hate the cow.

Stupid cow letting agent only gave me a little more than 1/3  back, but far less than 1/2 from a £750 deposit. She deserves to be hung, drawn and quartered.

Time for a solicitor and Her Majesty's Courts Service to help me out.

Minor first world rant:  I know this is a common complaint on the boards, but it's just starting to hit me how annoying it actually is to deal with.  I think I the thing I miss most from the states right besides family and friends is having a tumble dryer.  Right now we have a few drying racks in front of window in a small room.  Today all the space was taken up by roommates clothes so I have to fold up everyone else's dry clothes before I can hang up mine and my fiance's.  My clothes stay stiff after they dry, also I have long hair and shed quite a bit, that used to come off my clothes along with lint in the dryer.  Here my clothes come out of the washer with loose hair all over them :P  I don't think the washing machine here cleans very well either, or else I'm just putting too many clothes in a load.  It's going to be interesting come winter trying to get wet clothes to dry there...

Yet another neck crick. :( I've woken up with one twice in the last 2 weeks and managed to give myself one randomly twice more. I'd really like to be able to move my head, damnit!

I keep getting a neck crick too that ends up going up to pain in one side of my head -- more like migraine.  ??? Stress, anyone?

Have you got a small room you can close up? Get a dehumidifier, and put the airing racks in there. We do this in the winter and two loads of laundry are dry in a few hours. Bonus points because ours is in an old, disused shower (ex-hotel boat) so the dehumidifier just drains down the old shower drain so there's nothing to empty. :)

Don't think I like these new "slimming" trousers all the stores have. I would put on a pair of normal jeans in the morning and would have to inhale to zip up but by afternoon they'd be loose. With these new things, they push all the flab up to my midriff, thereby failing in their promise of a "slim" image. And by the afternoon I have a stomach ache because they seem to get tighter as the day goes on  ???

Nooooooo! Just found out that the awesome Mexican restaurant Green & Red by Brick Lane just sold to a new owner, who apparently want to turn it into "an English tapas bar".  :\\\'(

The only upside is that the rumour is that the chef is going to start up his own place.

noooooooooo! I love Green and Red! Haven't been since we moved out of E1 :(

Mine is, I need to go to A&E to get my boobs looked at (ooh er) but any hopes of leaving work have just been dashed.

Luckily I've arranged to go home a day early so can go to nice NHS walk in in London.

I know I'm getting to be a grumpy old woman.  ;)

Based on lunch with a co-worker today, minor rant...  People who don't eat (meat/wheat/gluten/dairy/carbs/alcohol/fat/protein/fruit/poop/insert whatever...) and who also then make the huge leap of logic (via unsolicited advice) then to assert/believe/say that those things must therefore be unhealthy for others to consume as well.  FFS!  ::)

Do what you want to do, by all means - for allergy, conscience, fad, diet, whatever...but live and let live.  :P
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

- from Anthem, by Leonard Cohen (b 1934)
