Trying to wean the 2 year old off the pacifier.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

My Grandmother....I told her I needed orig birth certificate and her orig marriage certificate to file for my Irish FBR....
What did she bring to NJ....A copy and some bank signing saying it was a true copy of the birth cert.

thank god I ordered my OWN copy of birth cert but I didn't realize she gave me a copy of the marriage and I called and asked for it...she says people say I shouldn't give you the orig b/c it might get lost.
So now I am ordering that from PA and told her I won't need it from her...just another 10 days of waiting hopefully before I can send this out!

Yeah, it's better (and easier in the long run) to get the birth/marriage certs. straight from the clerks office of wherever its registered, even if you do have to pay something.

Agreed - she was shocked I could get them on my own ;-) The power of the internet and cash...
The PA people were super nice since I needed a SASE I said I can put $2 in cash but I dont have American stamps and he laughed and said dont worry about it, we will cover it.
I just want to mail it and be done...One step closer to no worries

Having been unemployed for over a year now and suffering with depression and anxiety, DS had to go on the Massachusetts health system earlier in the summer. He went through the list of local doctors that accepted this insurance and either they were not accepting new patients or else they just never answered their phone. He was told by MassHealth he would have to try in another part of the state (!) He finally found one doctor's office where the physician was not accepting new cases but they had just hired another doctor who was. He was not yet on the list but would be. So the boy went off for an exam and got referrals and a prescription and seems a bit better.
Yesterday I (yes me) received a bill for $195 because the insurance would not pay up! Although he's been designated "eligible" when they send in the bill it comes back saying he does not meet their "requirements" for eligibility. So he's got to ring the insurance and try to sort it out. The woman at the doc's office was very nice though and said definitely do not pay the bill. So if he wasn't already depressed and anxious, he would be now!  >:(
I hope the federal health system can do better than this.

The students are back!  Hello crowded pavements, crowded buses, late running buses...  Grumble, grumble, grumble.  >:(

In other news, we got word at the end of the day (at work) today, that the company receptionist died!  She was also an American woman & not that old really - late 50s.  Nobody was saying what happened.  She didn't turn up for work yesterday & didn't ring in either - which was very unusual for her.  We know she wasn't in the best of health - back problems, blood pressure problems, asthma & breathing problems, but she wasn't in the worst of health either.  I wasn't especially close friends with her, but we all knew her & it's still a shock to hear for someone not old & they just stopped coming to work one day.  :(

I totally noticed the late running buses today as I needed to go into town!  Weird and sad about your co-worker.  :(

Sorry to hear about your coworker, C. It's so unsettling when things like that happen.

Definitely making me think twice about minding my health more!  I think, after our upcoming holiday, I'm going to join a gym again.  There's one in city centre that's a lot cheaper than where I went before (no pool - but I didn't end up using it anyway), only month-to-month (no contract), and some of my work friends are going there.  I've been struggling too much on walks that aren't flat-ish, and I want to be striding up those hills again & getting ready for long distance next summer.

found a really lovely winter coat on ebay, seller is from china, it ended up being about £30 with shipping. Its been 2 weeks... no coat. I look on his feedback and every one is saying the same thing "item not received" and etc. hes had 33 negatives recently.  I am so pissed off. I am very picky about coats, and i finally found one i like, and the seller ends up being a thief and a liar. FFS!

And if thats not enough, I bought this really cute camouflaged lingerie. In the picture it look really sexy and awesome. But when I got it out the package and tried it on, it doesnt fit anywhere near as it looks in the picture. I am 5'4 and i weigh just under 8 stone. The description in the auction says it will fit between 90lbs and 130lbs. This thing hangs off me like its an XXXL , the chest bit doesnt cover the breasts it covers maybe half of them if that..(and i have small titties!) it looks like im wearing a saggy pillowcase! I am so disappointed!

I must have missed all of this, but I'm having an AWFUL day with our letting agent, too!  >:( It has been a big mess from the start. We're supposed to be moving tomorrow and the letting agent apparently doesn't have the keys, and the landlord has not even checked the property yet. DH is going down to try and sort it out tomorrow...
Finally living with my Husband in London after 6 1/2 years together but apart... and loving my life!

First, the JobCentre messed up the spelling of my last name on my letter with my NI number.

I received the new one today, and now the spelling is correct but they have swapped my middle and last names.  ::)

Blaaaahhhhh!!!!!!!  Obviously, no one actually looked at my application or my copy of my passport, which is actually both amazing and disconcerting at the same time!

Hopefully 3rd time is the charm.

I can't wait to see which variation the card has whenever that comes.
