I'm so sorry Jewlz. Hopefully things will turn around for you soon.

Mine seems minuscule in comparison - hubby broke his watch so I ordered him 2 from a catalogue. They are saying they were delivered on Tuesday, but we've not seen them nor had a card through the door. So I phoned to find out what's up and was told that someone had signed for it, but they couldn't tell me who. they also said they had to send a missing parcel form and I had to return that then they'd investigate.

And then, I asked about my sheets that were supposed to be delivered yesterday and apparently they have been delayed and I wasn't contacted.

I hope my nursing bra shows up...

Lost the job I thought I had... they aren't allowed to take anyone else on since part of the company has been making people redundant.  :-[

Then after I found that out, I had to go back to hospital for yet another aspiration.  :\\\'( But, I guess the good and bad news is that he says it will be the last one. If it doesn't clear up by next Thursday, he is going to schedule a surgery instead, which he says takes about a month recovery time with daily trips to my local surgery for packing and dressing.  :-\\\\

Awe, Jewlz.  I so sorry to hear that.  I'm hoping this is bottom for your worries and now things can only get better for you.  Hugs to you.

I wish job search websites had a feature that allowed you to state the things you don't want to show up in the search.  I want nothing to do with "sales" or the people who advertise "Apply Today! Start Tomorrow! No Experience Required!"  ::)  It's getting old sifting through this rubbish!

package arrived, but had been opened and resealed with packing tape.

The kitten is eating everything - things out of the bin, old tea in cups, getting on counters to get plates, the other cat's food. We allow both cats to self feed and there is plenty of food in the kitten's bowl, but he's eating his food plus everything else! The other cat never did this and I'm worrying something's wrong with him.

Phatbeetle, "What did you do on your Friday night? Did you go to the pub and have fun?"

"Nope, J and I spent 2 hours breaking into my flat!"

My bike, which I have been keeping in my stairwell to my flat, fell over and lodged itself in between the door and the stairs- and thus we couldn't open the door even 2 centimeters.
So 2 trips to B&Q later armed with 2 inch pipe stock and a broken letterbox, and a bit of a knackered bike wheel, we could finally get in  >:(

Oh man, our cat is exactly like this. I've never seen a greedier cat in all my life, it drives us crazy! Have you tried worming the kitten? I'd say that would be the first thing to try, if its old enough. If that doesn't help, then maybe take it to the vet. It could be diabetes or another problem making it so hungry (does it drink a lot of water, too?) or you could just have a cat with a big appetite! Just be careful if you decide to let it be an inside/outside cat because you may end up with lots of unwanted scraps in the garden, if you know what I mean.  :-X Our cat eats loads of food, plus digs in our bin and eats anything left on the bench for five minutes with your back turned, plus kills and eats everything from full-sized rabbits to mice and birds.  [smiley=bleck.gif]

My wedding is in exactly 5 weeks, and so far, only about half of the invitees have bothered to send back the (pre-addressed, pre-stamped) reply card.  The deadline is this coming Wednesday.

I thought maybe I'd get a lot of them this past week, but only one more showed up.

I get that it's a busy time of the year and all, and if a lot of people can't make it, or just don't feel like coming, that's fine.  But it really annoys me that *my own family* (cos it's pretty much all relatives) can't even be bothered to write a zero on the card and drop it in a mailbox.

Grr.

Yeah, I debated about which thread to put it in :)

That's annoying :( Can you send a cheerful email to the people who haven't RSVP'd (if it's a small invite list or you have a very organized database)?

I figure I'll wait until after the official reply-by date, and then I can send emails to those who are on Facebook (mainly younger cousins & friends), and have my mom or grandma phone other people (older relatives).  I'll still have a week or two before I have to get the final head count to the caterer.

Made one of my best shepherd's pie tonight and while it was under the broiler, I decided to clean up my mess.  Well, I went to move a pot from the top of the stove to the sink and I stupidly forgot that pots left on top of the stove get really hot when the oven's on.  So, I end up burning two of my fingers on it.  Now I have a lovely blister on the inside of my knuckle on my forefinger...JOY!  At least the pain subsided (finally).

I've heard you're never supposed to put butter or other grease on a burn.  It can make it worse.  Just run it under cool water for at least 10-15 minutes, then maybe some aloe gel.
