I've heard you're never supposed to put butter or other grease on a burn.  It can make it worse.  Just run it under cool water for at least 10-15 minutes, then maybe some aloe gel.

You should never do that the fats don't wash off properly and can cause infection.  Unless you want to scrub your burn with a brush it get it out, OUCH.

A barage of constant negativity is hard to take and eats away at my ability for empathy.  :-\\\\

about a year ago, we pulled up in the drive and went to walk in the house in the pouring rain, when this little dog came up to us, it was soaking wet and freezing. We felt really bad for this little guy, so decided to take him inside until it stopped raining,to warm him up but before we could do so,his "owner" stood at the top of our drive, yelling at him to "come on", so the dog went over to him. Fastforward to last night, I'm walking to the shop when I see the dog again, I bend down to stroke him,and he was absolutley filthy, his fur was all rough and you could tell he hasnt been bathed..EVER. I go to scratch his ears, and the inside of his ears was completely dirty and rough with filth.

So whilst in the shop, I decided to buy him some treats, but unfortantley when I went back,he wasnt there anymore  :(

I absolutley hate it when people cant take care of their dogs. Too many people get them for the novelty and the idea of it,but when it comes down to taking care of it,they cant be bothered. I wish I knew where he lived, I would report him :(

My tummy is an IA.  Ever since I took a vitamin C and an echinacea yesterday morning my tummy has been alternately feeling acidic and bloated.  When it goes away and I finally get hungry again, I am ravenous, then it starts up again before I can even eat anything.  It was still like that this morning.  :-\\\\

Today is my cooking day so that I can have lots of leftovers for the week.

Made lasagna and it turned out really gross and hard. :( So much for those 3 hours, not to mention ingredients.

kb - ouch  - did you put butter on it <g> I always hear that works - me not sure I buy it.

I was told Never to put butter on a burn it retains the heat of the burn & it causes infections as well I was always told run it under cool water for a few mins.  ;)  :)

My friend who I hadn't heard from in over a year who sent me a email asking me to call her so I did but got no answer. then I got another email off her saying to call her Sat cause she has classes through the week & works midnights. so I did call her Several times Sat no luck I have called her a few times today no luck I even tried her mom's home & cell number with no luck either. I just want to know what the point of sending me that was email if she isn't going answer phone!!  >:(  ::) obviously things haven't changed why couldn't she just leave things alone  ::)  :P  I was perfectly fine not talking to her granted the first couple months were rough not talking to her  :\\\'(  but I got over them eventually an went on with my life.  :)  I was so excited when I got her email I could have done cartwheels  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif] but she has gone an burst my bubble again!!  :\\\'(

I actually ran it under the tap for several minutes, then got tired of standing there, so I put cold water in a bowl and held my fingers in it.  It finally stopped hurting after a couple of hours.  Now I just have to contend with a blister.  Feels weird, but I'm glad it wasn't worse.

Ink, I'm with you on that.  I hate it when people blatantly don't/won't take proper care of their animals.  They shouldn't be allowed to have them.  Poor creature.

Andee, I hope your tummy improves.  Not fun.

equestrianerd, I made a lasagna from David Rocco's show.  He calls it a lazy man's lasagna, but it's the best and easiest thing to make.  Here's the link to the recipe: http://www.cookingchanneltv.com/recipes/lazy-mans-lasagna-recipe/index.html.  It takes a while, but worth it in the end (not exactly sure what makes it a "lazy man's," but I'll go with it).

A barage of constant negativity is hard to take and eats away at my ability for empathy.  :-\\\\

 :-\\\\

I weighed myself today and I've gained nearly 20 pounds since I quit smoking!  :o I really need to get motivated, just having such a hard time doing it, and I've been buying marked down food (more processed food than usual - pizzas, quiches, etc.) since we don't have much money for food.  (I can pick up a pizza for a pound or two, got some quiches last night marked down for 29p each, etc.) :-\\\\ It's hard to pass up cheap food when we aren't working, plus MIL brings food over for us that can be calorific and fattening, but it's free!  :-\\\\ It's such a double-edged sword, really.

Don't worry about the weight. Income is a factor in the quality of the food available to you - don't penalise yourself over this. Get moving when you feel you are able to -  keeping active is more important than a number! ((hugs))

Feeling kinda low and blah.  :-\\\\ I'm sure it'll pass. A bit of TLC and time with others later in the week are things to look forward to.  :)

Not getting my act together this weekend and shopping for work stuff. I have things I need for my desk and as I eat breakfast at my desk, I just spent $8 on a wrap and cup of tea!! Highway robbery!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon
