Recruiters. Sent off my CV for a role paying X-Y. Recruiter calls up and asks what my current/desired rate is...I say Y. He says "oh, well, I'm not sure what their budget is, and whether they'd be able to go that high."

Okay, thanks, then why bother listing it on the site with that info? And if it really means "they'll only pay Y if you totally blow them away", then just say that. Don't BS me.

Running around like a chicken with my head cut off these last few days. Must. Get. Organized.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

This.

And recruiters who call, go over all your qualifications, etc. (they could just read your CV for the same info) and say they'll send you an email - which of course never materializes.

I hate that! I also hate when they e-mail you with the generic "I have a fantastic opportunity, call me for details!" and then are surprised when you never call them. And heaven forbid trying to get basic info from them like, say, the location of the job, duration, role description, let alone pay.

I also hate being made to feel bad because I'm not interested in their particular "fantastic opportunity"...if it's so fantastic, someone should have accepted it by now and you shouldn't be calling me.

thanks!

Been having weird nearly constant sharp pain around the middle of my belly today, so we rang the midwife and left a message and are just waiting for her to call back (it's been nearly 2 hours since I called...).

I'm sure it's just wind or something but it'd be nice if she phoned!

My husband is useless at neck messages as well. Get ye to a massage therapist!
