Called my mother and she actually said, "Don't people ever get sick from the weather there?" What?! People don't get sick from the weather... they get sick from germs.  ::) She hasn't even mentioned anything much about their trip since they got back, so I guess they didn't have as good a holiday as they wanted.  >:( Now I get to put up with cracks about how things are here instead of how nice some things are. She also had a go about the health service because they don't test everyone's stupid cholesterol every year. ::) Not to mention, I told her my BFF's parents gave her surprise lump sum for her family to use as a down payment for a house, and how exciting it is that they are going to be homeowners and she gave a sarcastic "Well good for them," because she hates her house and despises anyone who gets to buy a new house. What a *@$%&!  [smiley=smash.gif] My mother annoys me more than anything on the face of the earth. Why does it have to be this way?  :-[

If you ever work it out, can you let me know? :)

My mother said "Don't worry about losing weight for the wedding, everybody's used to you being so fat".... um, thanks Mum.

So sorry love, I have no idea why people that love so much can be so awful without even realising it properly.

:o That's shocking!!! When my melasma had first popped up several years ago, my mom said, "Don't worry, it just looks like you have dirt on your face." Yeeeeeaaaahhhh. WTF is up with our mothers? Do they consult each other on this stuff?   ::) :P

Wow, cold medicine is just not doing anything to make me feel better- at all

And I feel so crap that I have to miss band rehearsal tonight- as I am pretty sure I'm gonna fall into bed as soon as I get home from work
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

My own US doctor told me cholesterol does not need to be checked yearly unless you gain or lose a lot of weight or signficantly change your diet or get very sick.

Sorry you mom is being so difficult. :-* You, too CB! :-*
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I just moved into my new flat in Exeter this morning... only to discover that the boiler isn't working properly :( - the pressure gauge is supposed to be between 1 and 2.5 bars but when I turned it on earlier it started on 2.3 and gradually rose to past 3.5 bars! The landlord has apparently arranged for a plumber to come round... except he was supposed to be here an hour ago and there's no sign of him yet :(.

So, I'm freezing cold because there's no heating on (curled up in my dressing gown at the moment!) and I can't leave the flat to buy food for dinner in case the plumber turns up (I don't even have anything to make a hot drink... just water).

ETA: Just after I posted this, the plumber knocked on the door... so hopefully I'll be warm again soon!

The boiler went kaput last night- pilot light has gone out and won't reignite. Landlord has British Gas home care, so we phoned and managed to get an engineer appointment for today, sometime between 8 and 1. It's now 12, so I'm not betting that he'll turn up at 5 to 1, tell me he can't do anything today because he needs a part (or worse still, the whole thing needs to be replaced) and it will have been a big waste of time.  >:( At least we weren't yet using the heating and the shower is electric, but it's very annoying being without hot water.

Jewlz and CB can I lock my Mother in that room as well?  While she was here in August she said a lot of nasty  things, but the thing that really ticked me off was her slagging off MrRed5-in front of the girls!   >:(
I had to give her a piece of my mind over that one.
And she wonders why the 9 year old wouldn't talk to her much after that.....

Jewlz and CB I feel you, I had to call mine the other day for some bank details and she made me feel like Queen Moron of Moron Island even though I was *actually* right. Hugs to you both.  It's like I can never get off the phone without feeling insanely guilty for being annoyed the entire call!

My IA: This paper is doing my head in.  I never thought getting an MA would make me feel so dumb.  :P
