Andee, I hope your toothache doesn't get worse while you are waiting to see the dentist.  :-\\\\

My IA: I bought MIL one of those memory foam pillows for her birthday because she has been having pain in her neck, but I wanted the contour one that gives neck support, and Argos gave me the wrong pillow, it's one of the regular ones. I was in a hurry, so I didn't notice until I got home because the item number on the box is wrong - it matches the item number I ordered, but not the pillow I wanted. Now I wonder if I should just give her this one or take it back to the shop and get it sorted (I guess this one would be better if she sleeps on her side or her stomach, but I used to have one of those contour ones and it was great for neck pain). Hmmm.

I bought one of the contour ones because I kept waking up with neck cricks. Doesn't happen anymore. :) I'm not crazy about sleeping on that pillow (it's not soft/cushy like a regular one), but if it means being able to move my head in the morning, I'm a happy camper.

Our bus was a good 25 minutes late this morning (3 buses arrived one after the other!) and then the Red Line was doing it's usual delays.   >:(

Thanks BostonDiner and Jewlz!  I've now got an emergency appt with my dentist.  I show up at 9 and wait, she sees me when there's a bit of a break.  I just wish I had known about that yesterday when I first called--I'd have done it today!  Now hubs and I have to postpone our day trip to Whitby tomorrow for our anniversary.  We can always do it another time I guess, plus the weather isn't supposed to be good tomorrow anyway.

the amount of money I'm losing paying for parking at my new job
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Well, you probably wouldn't really enjoy the trip all that much if you were in pain and worrying. Good luck, hope they get it sorted; nothing more miserable than toothache.  [I remember a day trip DH and I made to Scarborough and it was sooo cold and foggy you couldn't see anything!]

Is there a park and ride or anything?? Surely the light rail is cheaper than parking in the city.

The times for the light rail just don't make it feasible unless I hand over all the morning school drop-offs to my mother. With her leaving so soon for her trip, there's no point considering that right now. But we might look at doing that, or doing that part time, when she gets back.

There is satellite parking with a shuttle... but that's another IA... finding out the details. Just haven't got around to it yet.

Well, I decided to avoid the hassle of return and just give the regular memory foam pillow. I hope it works out okay. For me, that one is kind of better because it's firmer than a regular pillow, but you can sleep in any position you like. The contour one is even firmer and gives better neck support, but it seems you have to sleep on your back all the time for it to work properly, and I'm not sure she if she sleeps on her back or not.  It turns out the one they gave me by mistake is more expensive and supposed to be better than the one I ordered, so maybe it will be.  I gave it a "test drive" (haha!) with the plastic wrapper still on and it's a darn comfortable pillow.  ;)

Mine has two different height sides on it. You're supposed to use the taller side when you sleep on your back, and the shorter side when you sleep on your side (I think?), but I find the taller side to be too tall so I just use the other one, and it's comfortable regardless of how I sleep.

My house is covered in boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, etc. The whole house is a maze and we've lost our dining room as the contents of the loft were emptied into it. This makes the control freak in me who is borderline OCD about cleanliness and clutter want to break out in panic attacks. Never mind banging my foot or hip every time I get up to go somewhere in the house. Hurry up Moving Day!

Let them eat cupcakes!

Talked to my grandma for the first time in a while and burst into tears before we hung up. Had a good cry for about 15 minutes after I spoke to her. She sounded so cute and I miss her so much!!!!  :\\\'( I'm so afraid that since she is getting older, something will happen and I will never see her again. Guess we will be needing to sort out a trip for next year to the states instead of going to Europe somewhere. Hope DH is okay with that. It just costs a fortune to go there.  :-\\\\ Maybe I should put off applying for citizenship until 2012?

So sorry you're missing your Grandma.  The trouble with living overseas is you increasingly have to spend your holidays going back to the US. (And when you get there everyone thinks you swan around the continent continuously!) Is she too old/frail to make it over for a visit? It's a big deal the older you get.  And there is the money factor whichever way you go.
