And to continue the trend of barely missing deadlines this week...

I was going to apply to volunteer for horsey events at the 2012 olympics. Deadline? October 27. Sigh.

I have never understood that, surely the rule should be that you should be LESS likely to touch someone when they're pregnant as they're more protective of themselves and less comfortable.

If anyone tries to touch my belly, pregnant or not, they get a smack in the mouth ;) :D

If it hadn't been a friend, I am fairly sure that my usual DONTTOUCHME mechanism would have resulted in a slap/punch/flail/elbow.  I just don't get it.  I am not a huggy person. My personal motto could be "why hug when a handshake will do."  ;D Why anyone who knows me would think that has changed, I have no idea.  It put me in a cranky, on-edge mood for the remainder of the day.   :-\\\\

Um, I dropped my mobile phone in the toilet today at work :-[ ... Lucky I had a spare phone with me, because mine was nearing the end of its life anyway. But, gross.

The last 2 days I have had a horrible neck ache I have really long thick hair an I'm getting some of it cut on Wednesday afternoon hopefully that will help with my sore neck. I have a memory foam pillow so I know I'm not sleeping funny on it.

The Beeb using "Democrat" as an adjective rather than "Democratic" when referring to things like The Democratic party (instead calling it the "Democrat Party").  Are they using Fox News' style manual?

For those of you who don't know, Republicans sometimes don't like to associate the Democratic Party with anything that could be interpreted as democracy (so being anti-Democrat might be interpreted as anti-democratic).  "Democrat" as an adjective (in addition to its use as a noun) is usually intended as pejorative.  Ironically, the term was originally meant as an insult as it would be connected with mob rule rather than representative democracy.

Talked to my grandma for the first time in a while and burst into tears before we hung up. Had a good cry for about 15 minutes after I spoke to her. She sounded so cute and I miss her so much!!!!  :\\\'( I'm so afraid that since she is getting older, something will happen and I will never see her again. Guess we will be needing to sort out a trip for next year to the states instead of going to Europe somewhere. Hope DH is okay with that. It just costs a fortune to go there.  :-\\\\ Maybe I should put off applying for citizenship until 2012?

When I read this it brought tears to my eyes.  I used to feel like you did before my grandparents passed.  I used to call my grandparents all the time because I loved to hear their voices.  There was once I talked to my grandfather and after I had this urge to cancel my plans and drive back home to see him.  He passed away a couple weeks later.

Seize the opportunity to visit your cute grandmother, even if she lives to be 100.  I hope your DH will understand when you bring it up.  But I can assure you that you won't regret it~no matter how much it costs. x

I have very poor reflexes today and every part of me feels stiff and heavy. And it makes me feel very down. I'm trying to keep up my energy for the children, but between classes another teacher told me I look lost today, so now i'm paranoid that it's really obvious. Or that I look like i'm crazy or something.

Two wardrobe related peeves:

1. Just thrown out the 3rd pair of socks in about a month because there was a hole in the toe. Fairly new too.
2. Newish jeans that I can no longer get into.  :(

told yesterday that the bairn is too big for a normal birth, c-section number 2 booked for 23 november.

was deperately hoping i could deliver naturally as the recovery time would be so much shorter and that would've come in really handy with a 2.5 year-old as well as a newborn. :-\\\\

SIL just invited herself over for DH's birthday tonight- we were supposed to meet her at the in-laws. So on top of working, getting myself ready, cooking a birthday meal and baking a cake, I have to clean my house like crazy (its not a mess, just need to do all the basics).

My in-laws think that we're lazy for not always having everything perfectly tidy (even though they clean their bathroom about once every 6 months). There is no way I am going to have my SIL reporting back that the place is anything less than perfect.

Just not sure how I will manage it!

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I finally got a proof of address letter today from uni so I can finally register with a new NHS GP. However, even though I gave them a request to change my address, the letter was sent to my new address but with my old address details on it!  [smiley=bigcry.gif] I'm out of thyroid meds and I still don't know the results of my thyroid ultrasound and my liver test from June. I apparently can't access those records until I register with a GP, according to the receptions office at my old/current GP. Meanwhile my landlord is always unable to come over and sign a contract with us. So I can't register with a GP until I get another letter issued by school, which will take at least another week, or wait for my lazy landlord to finally sign a contract with us for proof of address.

I love you NHS, but at least with my HMO back in the states I could move wherever I wanted in the metro-plex and keep the same doctors. However, here once I moved down the road, I had to change GPs  :( I'm not sure if I can wait much longer and I don't know if a walk-in centre can cut it... my hair has been falling out, I've had jitters in my hands, and difficulty sleeping  :-\\\\

((Hugs)) Nik. I know it sucks, but I can tell you from personal experience, it is do-able. Hell, I did and my oldest had the nerve to come down with the chicken pox as well! ;D Just take any help offered and be good to yourself!

RAR, that sucks. Isn't there some NHS central office you can call for help? I'm blanking on what they are called now.

We had an assessment today, 30 questions - 21 to pass, and only 16 of the 40 students passed it. Me? I got 20 questions right. [smiley=shout.gif]
