I have always used baby nail clippers. Out of the bath is a great time to try.

. I know some moms bite them off themselves but I could never manage to do that.

I considered doing that but I just thought of all the germs in my mouth that will get on her fingertips ,and now that she sucks her hand I don't want to give her any germs

I know this sounds gross but I did used to bite them off...I could judge the length with the tip of my tongue....

I bit hers off while she was nursing.

Now she loves getting her nails cut!  My husband does it and he'll announce that it's time for a manicure at Daddy's salon.  She gets so excited!

Me too, I used to bite Hope's off while she was breastfeeding, she didn't even notice. Now she's 16mths we use big grown up clippers, as they get the job done faster and she lets me do it just fine.
