Good online tax calculators
« on: January 07, 2006, 03:37:50 PM »

Hi All,

Can anyone recommend an accurate self-assessment tax calculator (for UK income tax) other than the official one on the HM Revenue site? The reason why is that I want to see if I owe any income tax, at which point I'd submit my return. What I don't want to do is register on the HM revenue website and submit an official return which ends up showing I owe money- at which point it would be rather too late to say "Doh! Just kidding! I rescind the return I just calculated!"

I've tried one online calculator already which indicates my taxes were already at about the right level, but I'd be interested to hear any recommendations for particularly good ones.... Thanks!

iresign.com/uk has a tax calculator as well as a budget calculator to figure out what you need to earn to be able to afford the lifestyle that you want. It's cool.
