Working from home
« on: January 09, 2006, 03:21:56 PM »
Hi all... anyone know of anyone who successfully works from home doing things like making crafts or anything like that? I am very hands on and do all kinds of things like crochet, cross stitch, and I make these cool cross necklaces that I am going to try to sell to some shops. Does anyone else have any experience doing anything like this and do you have any luck. I am not looking to make big money or anything, just something to make some extra pocket money, and that I can do at home while taking care of my kids.

I don't really know anything about crafty stuff, but I do know of many "regular" jobs that offer the option of working at home.  One of my colleagues works Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings and the rest of the week at home.  Another doesn't work Fridays.  When my contract is up for renewal later this year, I'm definitely going to ask to work from home at least one day a week!

I'm at a university and they're really good about working with people, especially those with children.  It's still weird that people are basically allowed to come and go as they please, but hey, I'm down with it if it means I can do it as well!   :D

Have a look at your local market and see if there's anyone selling what you've got in mind. Perhaps you can sell your goods to them.
