Shipping by sea freight through USPS
« on: January 09, 2006, 03:45:48 PM »
My dad shipped a box to the UK for me almost 8 weeks ago by sea freight  through the United States Postal Service. (he did not get tracking for it!) I still haven't received it. What is the normal time to receive a package sent from California to the UK by sea? Does anyone know. Please help. I'm beginning to panic that it may have been stolen!

Thanks for your reply. I'm starting to feel better.   ;D Big sigh! You shipped through the United States Post Office right?

7 weeks from CA for most of my stuff.  8 weeks for a stray box that didn't arrive with the first lot.  It'll show up any time.. maybe in a week or so because of the holidays.
Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…

not to worry you, but I never received 2 packages in October shipped via USPS - no tracking or insurance. These were little gift boxes from friends. I was so angry - I asked that they do electronic or UPS or Fedex from now on.

We mailed boxes via USPS surface on November 19th and they still have not gotten there. Hoping the delay is due to the holidays. They told us 4-8 weeks....
