Sorrento?
« on: January 26, 2006, 03:21:18 PM »
Has anyone ever been? Any ideas as to what to do? Any easy day trips to do on public transport? I've been to Italy several times before, but never Sorrento.

I'm going with Tony on a buisness trip, so I will be mostly on my own during the day. We will be there for a week in March.

Thanks!

I've been.  There's great shopping, wood inlay shops.  A good good GOOD day trip is to Capri.  It's about 40 minutes by ferry from Sorrento.  It's gorgeous.  The views from the cliffs in Sorrento are amazing.
Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…

Sorrento is lovely, one of my favorite places to visit.  The Isle of Capri is amazing.  Enjoy your trip!!
