Pizza Stones
« on: January 27, 2006, 02:16:52 PM »
Looked through this board- but can't find anything on pizza stones.  I found a place- cookability.com to buy online but b/c it's so heavy it's expensive to ship.  any local department stores have pizza stones?  john lewis?

I got mine in Wales. Belindaloo's uncle has a fantastic kitchen shop loaded with wonderful things. I got the pizza stone, large pasta plates and a zyliss chopper! I dont know if he has an online shop but maybe if you send Belindaloo a PM she may be able to help you.

Hiya! It's actually my cousin's shop, but yes it is fantastic! Unfortunately, he doesn't have a website. There is a phone # and email address listed here: http://www.narberth.co.uk/content/sponsors/dyments/dyments.htm

If you wanted to order a pizza stone, I'm sure he'd be able to send it to you.

But if you're looking to buy one in a shop, as opposed to online, I'd suggest looking in your Yellow Pages for a kitchen supply shop. Any good one should have pizza stones -- or should be able to get one for you. I don't know where you are, but hopefully there's a good shop near you!

Good luck!

Thanks for the info! I've been looking for a stone as well in order to recreate a whole-wheat crust I sampled last year.

I found a couple of other kitchen gadgety websites that have pizza stones. Not sure what the shipping costs are (pizza stones are heavy, no getting around that), but you can comparison shop and see who has the best deal:
