Hello once again everyone,

much gratitude for any advice that anyone would like to volunteer.

My fiance is in the UK, I would like to go visit him there.  My two children and I tried to visit him about 5 months ago but were refused entry based on the opinion that they didnt think we would leave after our stay (i had a 6 month return ticket and we had not met before in person)  since then he has come to the US and we had lived together for the three months he was here.  I am concerned about being refused entry again.  Is there a visitor visa that i can apply for now before i go and waste money on plane tickets.  Also It would be just me visiting, my boys would be staying with their father for the two or so weeks that i would stay.  My fiance has a job and a house that will accomadate us.  We are engaged and I would like to be able to come out to meet his family and scope out possible wedding locations etc.

Thanks again so much for your help

Learea

I'm sure that's not correct about only being able to bring the children if there's no-one else to look after them. What is important is that you have custody or their father's permission to bring them to the UK to live.  But if you can apply for them now I would do it, or questions may be asked about why you left them out, and yes their application will have to be made in the US.  It doesn't mean they have to travel at the same time as you just because you get their visas at the same time. You could come over, get set up and they could follow a bit later.

My son has lived with my parents for years and is near 14 years old. He doesn't want to move to the UK and change schools and such, so I was not going to include him on the application. He would rather continue living with my parents as he has done for most of his life and fly to the UK in the summertime and visit. I wondered if the consulate would question that, but to me, as long as he doesn't want to come, legally in the USA and in Texas he is old enough to choose to live with my parents in court. So I assume I will just have to explain this on the application. I have seen other people apply for visas and their kids have stayed in the USA to live while they went to the UK, so I am hoping it will be ok. :/ Everything is beginning to worry me now as the time to apply nears.
