Soreen Malt Loaf

Has anyone else found the greatness of toasted buttered malt loaf???

I have been scoffing at dh for years....turning my nose up...

(Modified to add that I don't mean that to sound dirty!! I just like buttered toast!)

it is a sticky malt loaf like bread

it has sultanas in it..and you can get it slices or unsliced..untoasted with butter it is chewy but if you toast it it goes like toffee cruchy and chewy *droooooll* and put butter on it and it melts..........mmmmmmmmm

sounds....interesting but then I'm not a big bread and butter person....my weakness is potatoes and chocolate.

It is sooooo YUMMY! FIL introduced me to it when I was pregnant....Mmmmm, makes me want to go out and buy a loaf now! :)

Here's a pic of the malt loaf..

Dunno, I'm finding it hard to describe,lol. Its a very dense fruit bread; very sticky and chewy. I've never had anything quite like it though. :)

Mmmmmm, malt loaf.........

no not really it is a very dense loaf..kinda sticky...doesn't taste of spice......but toasted it taste lovely

I dont toast it... just slice it and spread a thick layer of butter on.
